Background and Practice

Catherine (Cathie) Mackey is a fourth-generation Bradenton native with deep roots in Manatee County. She graduated as a "Hall of Fame" student from Manatee High School in 1979 and went on to earn a degree in Communications with a minor in the Humanities from Florida State University in 1983. A true Florida native at heart, she received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law.

Along with her husband Peter, Catherine co-founded Mackey Law Group, P.A. in 1991, building the firm into one of the most trusted civil law practices in Bradenton and Manatee County. Her decades of community involvement and local knowledge give her clients an attorney who truly understands the people and the area she serves.

Catherine's primary focus is estate planning and probate. She works closely with individuals and families to craft comprehensive estate plans tailored to their specific situations — helping them protect their assets, provide for loved ones, and ensure their wishes are carried out. She also guides personal representatives and beneficiaries through Florida's probate process with care and clarity.

Clients consistently describe Catherine as thorough, compassionate, and committed to genuinely understanding their goals. Her long-standing presence in the Bradenton community reflects a practice built on trust and lasting relationships.
